The Pocket Pixel performs like a traditional Xenon strobe light with added capabilities. It allows flash rates up to 50,000 flashes per minute, far beyond what an ordinary strobe can do. And while a Xenon strobe typically has a very short flash (10-100 microseconds), the Pixel allows adjustment of the flash duration from 10 through 250 microseconds. Shorter flash durations minimize blur of observed objects, while longer durations provide more light. The Pocket Pixel flash duration can also be set to automatically adjust proportionally to the flash rate, giving the best balance of light intensity and flash duration.
