Unilux offers a variety of special inspection lights for the paper industry which operators, inspectors and other mill personnel use to spot processing problems in every step of the paper making process. Head box, formation problems, dewatering, turbulence, stock jump, felt & wire wear, bearings, gears and surface quality of the paper are all easily inspected with the use of Unilux stroboscopes.

Even if objects are moving at full production speed, stroboscopic inspection lights make them appear in slow motion, or even stopped, to ensure flaws or processing problems are easily detected. They can also be used as a diagnostic tool for monitoring the results of corrective measures when trying to solve process-related problems.

These lights can also be synchronized to any standard camcorder, for providing crisp, sharp video images of the paper making process. Their 10 microsecond flash duration enables the camera to capture stopped images, which can then be reviewed using frame by frame playback. This allows personnel to research and correct the toughest of problems quickly and efficiently, savings hundreds of thousands of dollars in processing time and material waste.

For complete mobility, the battery-operated Beacon provides up to twenty-six minutes of continuous high intensity inspection anywhere in the mill. The Beacon's powerful spot pattern illuminates areas up to 5 meters away and allows the operator to see fine details of the paper formation across the entire forming section. At five times brighter than any other battery-powered strobe in the world, the Miti-Lite delivers a bright and even flood pattern that allows inspection of the finest details from the head box through the drying section. With the ability to move quickly between paper machines without the restrictions of electrical cords or outlet locations, maintenance personnel can check and pinpoint exact locations of problem areas. The Beacon the Miti-Lite are capable of synchronizing to a video camera, allowing the opportunity to review later as a diagnostic or training tool.

For wide area inspection of the formation sections, the powerful 500 watt Hi-Lighter punches through steam, fog, and high ambient lighting to show variations in the entire formation process. Operating from universal voltages of 90–250 volts the Hi-Lighter enables both visual inspections from the head box and through the rewinder.

For stationary inspection in converting areas, the HD-851 allows operators to inspect surface quality, embossing and print patterns, edge to edge, at full production speed. For other options in converting applications, click on the CONVERTING link found on the sidebar.
