UNILUX NAMES TOM HEROLD VP OF SALES FOR THE AMERICAS

Will lead initiatives to serve customers and transition from Xenon to LED

Unilux, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of strobe lights for surface inspection in the metals, printing/converting, and papermaking industries, today named Tom Herold as the company’s Vice President of Sales for the Americas. In his new role, he will provide local sales support to Unilux customers on the East Coast and lead initiatives for growth throughout North, Central, and South America.

The applications for stroboscopic inspection are almost limitless, and Unilux stands at the front of the pack with their newest LED designs,” Herold said. “It is an honor to join the team that re-engineered Xenon strobes for industrial inspection and then pioneered LED-based systems for significant environmental and maintenance benefits. It’s an exciting time for Unilux, and I’m eager to work with our engineers and sales representatives to see where we can take the technology.”

Tom brings over 30 years of experience in technical sales to Unilux, serving the converting, packaging, paper, and metals industries. Most recently, he was a Regional Sales Manager with Accraply, a subsidiary of Barry-Wehmiller Companies, Inc., and Vice President of Sales for Maxcess International.

"We are thrilled to welcome Tom to the Unilux team," said Mike Simonis, President. "His rich industrial background and strong managerial experience will be critical to our growth and our customers’ success. He cares about the customer experience, and that makes him an excellent fit with our culture. Our LED product line development and expansion are the direct results of listening to our customers’ requests and working with them to meet their business goals.”

Unilux inspection lights use the stroboscopic effect to freeze images of sections of webs moving at full production speed, making the smallest of defects clearly visible. This enables operators to use their knowledge of the product and printing process to determine the cause of the defect and take appropriate action to fix the problem or stop expensive, value-added processes to reduce waste.
